The Association of Swiss Deluxe Hotels (SDH) was founded in 1934 and comprises 37 of the most prestigious five-star hotels in the whole of Switzerland. With a total of 4500 rooms and suites and some 9200 beds, the group represents around 40 percent of Switzerland's five-star capacity. SDH is thus the leading group in this sector and for decades has played the leading role in the Swiss luxury industry. The group records an approximate annual total of 800'000 overnight stays.

The Hotel "Matthiol" which opening was on 19 december 2009 stands out from the competition. True to the motto "small is beautiful" the hotel has 23 rooms and suites in a successful mix of rusticality and trendyess. A highlight for guests with high expectations and a sense for something unique.
